Time Flies

Has it really been a year since I last updated this thing? Apparently. I'll stick in a photo I took recently.

Here's one I took New Year's Day. We had game day all day long.

Digging It

One of the things we did around the place on Monday was to move some dirt into the low place in the road. About the same time I found some kids' tools in amongst the other garden tools. The kids really enjoyed helping. Sure, I could have gotten more done faster without their help. But I try to remember patience. The point isn't always to get things done, but why it's worth doing and who it's for. And I really want to encourage my kids. Not just in that work is okay, but that it's good to spend time with the family, too.

Visiting the old house

Justice likes his Lo Mein. Or as he calls it, "Chinese spaghetti."

I finally got the particle board put in under the sink. It definitely looks like a patch job, but it costs way less than replacing the whole cabinet. The notches down the center are pocket holes. The whole board couldn't fit in with that vertical bar in front. So I cut it in half, then used the kreg jig to out it back together. Now that it's no longer a hole to the foundation, I'll be able to crawl under there to replace the kitchen faucet sometime soon

Full moon casts shadows
More crazies can see by light?
Or more can be seen?

Four Years

Today is our fourth wedding anniversary.  The traditional gift for four years is linen.  Well, linen is a bit impractical.  I got Maegan some organic cotton sheets she's been wanting.  She made me a pillow with a burlap cover which says:

It's very sweet, and very nice.

Tonight we took Justice and Liberty to see the fireworks show in Rowlett.  We all really enjoyed it.

We had to sit in loads of traffic while leaving, though.  While sitting there, Justice told us he needed to pee.  He peed during the show, so we were surprised he needed to again so soon.  But he had been drinking lots of water because it was so hot.  He held it all the way home.  He's getting to be such a big boy.
